One of the most popular post from 2019, when I started blogging was lifestyle beauty habits & the post below ‘Skincare Army List’.

I don’t own elephant memory for each harmful chemical, and I have intention to remember. Whenever I shop or do my research, I check the blog/beauty/beuatyarmy

Shortly, I’m not advocate of natural, green, eco or non-toxic labels on, cause…. I believe in what I see in the ingredient description. 2- concentration of how much certain ingredients are in one bottle. For example, made with organic ingredients means only 70% needs to be organic ingredients. 3- Checking the packaging it comes in. 4- Final check is ‘Made In Finland’ for example, oats grown in Finland’s soil are quite nutrient dense.

Over the years, I have learnt science and nature are the most natural and benefiting creams I can give for my skin. Trying variety of brands, Dior, Tom Ford, Barbara Strum has been the most gentle and nourishing for my skin’s health and balance.  Tom Ford’s eye palette, which is toxin free has become my favourite eyeshadow palette and what I am happy to recommend forward. It’s not causing ageing or toxins into your eye good circulating and it has quality and beauty in every step.

Preservatives’  role is to kill bacteria. There are toxic and non-toxic preservatives. Non-toxic preservatives are phenoxyethanol and sodium benzoate. These two are safe. On my army list, you can find the toxic preservatives (parabens and formaldehyde).

Parabens: Disrupts the hormonal system. Parabens are highly linked to breast cancer.

  • butylparaben
  • isobutyl paraben
  • methylparaben
  • propylparaben

Formaldehyde: Brain toxicity, developmental toxicity, asthma and also a carcinogen.

  • -2-bromo-2-nitropropane-1,3
  • bronopdiazodinyl urea
  • DMDM hydration
  • quaternium-15
  • sodium hydroxymethylglycinate
  • imidazolidinyl

Phthalates: hormone system disrupters. The added chemical in products, which allows the fragrance to stay on skin and nail polish on nails.

  • dibutyl phthalate
  • diethylhexyl phthalate
  • diethyl phthalate

EDTA: Not highly researched, but I trust my gut feeling and research. Its role is to stabilise and bind ingredients.

  • Ethylene aminetetraacetic
  • Acid EDTA
  • disodium EDTA
  • tetrasodium EDTA

1,4 Dioxane contamination: Linked to cancer, breathing issues, organ toxicity and skin irritation. Mostly in shampoos and “bubbly” products.  (act as thickener, softener, emulsifier, solvent)

  • polyethene glycol
  • laureth
  • sodium Laureth sulfate
  • ceteareth

Ethanolamines: Disrupts hormonal system, increase allergies and highly toxic to skin.

 MOMS, Fetal brain development

  • ethanolamine
  • diethanolamine
  • cocamide
  • monoethanolamide
  • triethanolamine

  • Mercury/ thimerosal
  • Toluene as a word in substance
  • Benzalkonium chloride
  • Triclocarban

Fragrance/perfume/flavour= trade secret
This is a tricky one. It is the secret ingredient that doesn’t need to be told. It can have hidden ingredients that are toxigenic.
