Skincare In Your 50s
Skincare at 50s
How to Tackle the Main Changes Today? Below I’ll be walking you through 50s skincare science things to remember and consider when entering a new decade. Menopause and change in hormones brings the main changes in our 50s. This is a natural change, and beautiful. Like we celebrate menstruation, we can celebrate menopause too!
Menopause & Skin changes
Redness
Collagen & elastin production declines, which shows as sagging skin.
Sebum production declines that cause dullness.
Skin will become thinner. Thin skin is less resistant to environmental irritants, like pollution.
Beauty routine adds on
Continue serum, oil, moisturiser in the mornings and evening.
Add.1 hyaluronic acid. Hyaluronic acid will help your skin to maintain its protection towards environmental chemicals and pollution.
Tip.1 Menynthes trifoliate/ date palm oil stimulates collagen production.
Tip.2 Narcissus bulb and Spanish Lavender, both prevent deep wrinkle lines and keep skin more firm. In case you have more redness; reduce it with nopal leaf.
50s Skincare Army
Water, Hydrate, hydrate. Keep filling your glass with pure water.
Omega-3 and other essential fatty acid foods will benefit your bones and joints.
Fermented foods. Try to eat more foods like tempeh, miso etc., because they are high in phytoestrogens. This will balance out the decreasing oestrogen levels.
Facial massage before bedtime to increase repair and rest process during the sleep.
Massage, to increase blood flow and lymphatic circulation. A cheaper way, practise yoga/ pilates.
Considering B.O.T.O.X. ??
Here is what I look forward to add after seeing this magic going into life, and whether you have or not, try this natural botox first: Spanish Lavender. Spanish lavender has a chemical formula that will stimulate skin’s muscle constrictors. This stimulation will then decrease the appearance of deep lines and wrinkles.
Acupuncture; according to many research papers acupuncture has huge benefits for women undergoing menopause. It helps to balance out, for example, hormones and skin elasticity.
